A rare opportunity to build a Procurement team from scratch for a massive Financial Services organisation based in Downtown Toronto. Reporting into a VP Finance, this is a Head of Procurement position with a mandate to build a Category team, implement the Procurement Strategy, develop the Contract, Risk and Governance policies, implement a P2P process and develop a vendor management process. You will be the first Procurement member of the team in a company with an addressable spend of $800m+. Once you have built the team and processes, there is scope to take on more responsibility across the broader business.
As the ideal candidate you will have experience of building a Procurement department, implementing and developing processes and policies and developing technology. You must have a full Indirect Procurement background, including Strategic Sourcing, Vendor Management, Contracts Management and Operational Procurement. As well have being a strong leader, you must also be “hands-on” as the team will be extremely lean in the short-term. You must have an impressive career background, strong education and impeccable communication skills.

You as the ideal candidate you will have:
- Experience in building an Indirect Procurement department
- Director Level/VP Level responsibilities
- A full procurement background (not just sourcing or vendor management)
- Impressive education history – A Masters or MBA from a reputable organisation would be advantageous
- Exceptional communication skills
